We've plenty snow now so here atFort Pufferwe're watching and waitingto see how it goes and looking out of the bedroom window every morning we ponder on what will be needed to get the course in tip top nick for all of you funsters. Snow shovels ? ice picks ?Our petlocal boys with their JCB ? Oooh it's not long now.

We also took delivery of the Snowglobes yesterday so we'll be having a weeprize making partyalong with labelling the beer after I've picked it up from the Brewery. I can't give you the date on that one as we'll have to test it's ok for you first ....just tobe sure

Marshal Meal

It's our Marshal meal tonight. We are taking as many Strathpuffer marshals that can make it out for some posh nosh at the fabulous Red poppy Restaurant as a wee thank you for all their efforts at the event. Always good craic especially when the Puffer beer starts to flow . . .

Well, the snow went away a couple of days ago......and came back today! We have about 3-4 inches lying......but who knows what we'll have in 9 days?

Was out on the trail yesterday putting up Paths Access Exemption notice. Stopped by Bill who's helmet was at a very jaunty angle. I think he's had a great Hogmanay up in the woods. He's looking forward to seeing you all next weekend and wishes everyone a very Happy New Year !

Those fine folks at Exposure lights (they are taking care of all your light charging needs at the Puffer)have sent us some ex-demo (used once) 2010 Maxx-D lights to sell on at a staggeringly cheap £200! They normally cost £325 and you get 960 lumens of brilliant light for 3 hours at the max setting, 10 hours at half power! It's just like last year only the first big dump of snow has arrived a couple of weeks earlier - what this means for the Puffer who knows? - probably glorious sunshine

Puffer meeting on Thursday identified that we still have lots to do before the middle of January - over 40 tasked were dished out including stuffing snow globes and labelling beer - it's never easy . . . .

I ran round the Puffer course last night - no snow yet but there was definitely a feeling in the air that it's not far away - it's certainly cold enough - less than 10 weeks to No 6

Spent an hour this afternoon with Boyd, the manager at Brandon Hire Inverness, sorting out the generators and lighting for Puffer No 6 - stuff is being brought in from all over the country - at one point Boyd was trying to convince the manager at the Truro office to let us have one of his lighting rigs. All sorted I think - hoping to confirm everything by the end of the week
